Ukrainian serial of Zgurovsky-Ikeda dialogue begins

KIEV, Ukraine: Ukrainian education monthly Campus has begun serializing a dialogue between Dr. Michael Zgurovsky, Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine, and Daisaku Ikeda. The serial, tentatively translated as "Ukraine-Japan Friendship—Toward an Age of Hope, Toward an Age of Life," first appeared in the Japanese monthly Todai in May 2008. Appointed rector in 1991, Dr. Zgurovsky is an expert in mathematics and cybernetics who also served as Ukraine's Education Minister between 1994 and 1999. The co-authors first met in Tokyo in April 2006, when Ikeda received an honorary doctorate from the Ukrainian institution. Read by educators, students and parents, Campus is published in Ukrainian and Russian and has a combined circulation of some 40,000.
