Choose Life: A Dialogue and Dawn After Dark

I. B. Tauris of London, which publishes new work in the humanities and social sciences in addition to general nonfiction, has undertaken the publication in English of a collection of selected dialogues between Daisaku Ikeda and world figures. Initiating the series are Choose Life: A Dialogue with the British historian Arnold J. Toynbee (1889-1975), first published in Japanese in 1975, and Dawn After Dark with French art critic and Académie Française member René Huyghe (1906-97), originally published in French in 1980.

Mr. Ikeda has held dialogues with international leaders and scholars on a wide spectrum of subjects covering religion, politics, economics, science and the arts. Books he has collaborated on to date number over 50, and these have been translated into some 33 languages. Over the next three years, I. B. Tauris will continue to release two books in spring and two in autumn for a total of 12 volumes. Future titles include A Lifelong Quest for Peace with two-time Nobel laureate and nuclear physicist Linus Pauling (1901-94), Moral Lessons of the Twentieth Century with former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev and Compassionate Light in Asia with contemporary Chinese writer Jin Yong.
